Application of Vacuum Emulsifying Machine in Toothpaste Production

Toothpaste is an essential cleaning item in our daily life. Everyday we need to clean our teeth thoroughly with the toothpaste, or there will be different problems with the teeth, affecting our eating and living seriously. We may usually be more concerned about which brand of toothpaste is better and what kind of dental cream is suitable for ourselves, but we seldom talk about how the toothpaste is produced.

Actually, toothpaste is produced by the application of a vacuum emulsifying machine in mixing and blending the ingredients. With all the ingredients in the vacuum state, the emulsifying machine distributes one or more phases into another continuous phase rapidly and evenly with a high shear emulsifying mixer. By using the powerful kinetic energy brought by the machine, the materials can bear hundreds of thousands of hydraulic shear per minute in the narrow gap between the stator and rotor. Under the combined action of centrifugal extrusion, impact and tearing, the materials are instantly dispersed and emulsified evenly. Finally, delicate and stable products of high quality without any bubbles are obtained after high-frequency cycles. The vacuum emulsifying machine are widely used in biological medicine, food industry, daily chemical care products, coating ink, nano materials, petrochemical, printing and dyeing auxiliaries, paper industry, pesticides and fertilizers, plastics and rubber, power electronics, other fine chemicals and so on.

Generally speaking, the toothpaste production process is divided into two-step method and one-step method. The former means first put the basic ingredients into the vacuum emulsifying mixer and then add the formula ingredients. After putting in the abrasive, vesicant and other solid materials, stir and homogenize them. Finally, add the essence and remove the bubbles. The latter is to premix ingredients according to the formula to prepare the oil phase, liquid phase and solid phase. Then add the liquid phase and solid phase through the pipeline transportation system. After stirring and homogenizing, put in the powder and then the essence. After homogenizing for several minutes, the toothpaste is finished.

In the process of manufacturing dentifrice, vacuum is a particularly critical step. If it cannot reach the vacuum standard during the production process, there will cause bubbles in the toothpaste. However, the vacuum emulsifying machine allows the materials to be evenly dispersed and emulsified in a moment in the vacuum state without letting bubbles in throughout the stirring process.

As toothpaste is directly contacted with our oral cavity, bacterial contamination is absolutely not allowed and strictly controlled. Thus, the professional equipment for making dentifrice is supposed to be internally smooth and stable without residue. While using, the equipment should not only be always kept clean, but also be washed and disinfected regularly.
